THERAPY TECHNIQUES

Narrative therapy - a form of counseling that views people as separate from their problems. This allows clients to get some distance from the issue to see how it might actually be helping them, or protecting them,

more than it is hurting them. With this new perspective, individuals feel more empowered to make changes in their thought patterns and behavior and “rewrite” their life story for a future that reflects who they are, what they are capable of, and what their purpose is, separate from their problems. You can rewrite your story.

Childhood Trauma Recovery - by gradually releasing the burden of unexpressed grief, we slowly move out of the past. The healing begins when you risk coming out of isolation. When you find a safe place to express all the hurts and fears that you have kept inside you free yourself from the shame and blame that are carry-overs from the past. You can become an adult who is imprisoned no longer by childhood reactions. You will recover the child within you, learning to love and accept yourself. This process allows you to see your biological parents as the instruments of your existence and find peace of mind.

Body-based Therapy - There is an entire story held within your body, valuable information, stories without words. Some are pleasant; some are not. Painful stories held in the cells of your body make you sick, fatigued, or simply uncomfortable in your skin. Movement therapy helps move old energy out of your body, making room for new, positive forward movement. It helps reduce stress, prevent disease, and manage mood swings. It promotes self-awareness, self-esteem, and provides a safe space to express feelings as well as how to move in a way that creates a sense of well-being.

Lifespan Integration - a gentle, body-based therapeutic method which heals without re-traumatizing. After LI therapy, people find themselves spontaneously reacting to current stressors in more age appropriate ways. Clients who begin LI therapy with memory gaps are eventually able to connect the pieces of their lives into a coherent whole. Clients who have completed Lifespan Integration therapy report that they feel better about life, are more self-accepting, and are better able to enjoy their intimate relationships.

Guided Meditation - Meditation is guided by the therapist and personalized to the client. Clients get to practice and learn how to manage intense emotions using meditation. Clients can request personalized meditations which they can use at home.

Hypnotherapy - Hypnotherapy is also guided by the therapist and is

a safe, simple procedure used to drop you into an alpha state where you remain completely lucid and are able to talk to the therapist. The advantage of going into a hypnotic state is letting go of the old story or making changes to the old story so you can move forward in life.

Therapist will answer questions and facilitate perspective change, especially when therapy starts, however, clients have the opportunity to lead the session at any time. Experiential learning is powerful. Client and therapist will work together to create the experience of creating the life situation that the client wants.
